I came across this while fallowing a desire line on Wikipedia. I remember when it came out and thinking it was a good idea but the wrong way to do it. A lot of people though IVR (Interactive Voice Response) was going to be a Big Thing. A lot of people (including Enron) tried this kind of thing many times before it finally hit. Most brilliant ideas make it big because they are first, but because they are the first to make it work the right way at the right time. Mostly by standing on the backs of all the bodies of people who tried and failed before them.
